Last September, amidst the whispers of change and reinvention, I ventured into the nation’s capital to breathe new life into my artistry.
What started as a chance proximity evolved into a friendship grounded in our shared Michigan roots. Bonded by a love for art and a desire to push the boundaries of creativity.
Cheryl and I embarked on a collaborative journey that would culminate in the creation of “Sparkle & Jazz.” Cheryl’s mastery of Batik fashion and hand dyed tapestries, ablaze with a kaleidoscope of colors, seamlessly intertwined with my expressive mixed media paintings, giving birth to an installation that pulsated with life and vitality.
The fusion of our distinct styles not only harmonized but also elevated each other, creating a visual symphony that resonated with audiences at the Workhouse Art Center in December.
Encouraged by the reception of our collaborative work, we set our sights on a new horizon—Artomatic in the heart of Washington D.C. From March 8 to April 28, our creation will find a new home, inviting art enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of “Sparkle & Jazz.”
As Cheryl conducts workshops throughout the exhibition, offering a glimpse into the intricate artistry of her tapestries, the spirit of collaboration and creativity will continue to thrive within the space.
